September 05, 2013

Steven van den Broucke and Matthijs van der Want, from the Centre of Entrepreneurs (Centrum voor Ondernemen) Hogeschool Gent, visited the Science-to-Business Marketing Research Centre at Fachhochschule Münster.

Visitors and core Team of the Münster unit know each other from some project cooperation, e.g. in the project conducted for the European Commission.
“Our two successful units are united by many common interests and activities”, Professor Baaken stated and Todd Davey added “Entrepreneurship is going to be one of the top issues in Europe for improving competitiveness, technological break throughs and wealth of the society. If we can pool our knowledge and our competencies, we will be part of the leading edge in this area in Europe”. Thus both organisations agreed on further deepening the cooperation on “Entrepreneurial Thinking and Acting” of students and academia. “Only by identifying and using new opportunities and creating innovative business models, our society will benefit in future”, said Matthijs van der Want. “But we need to apply also new methodologies, and creative formats of teaching to create passion for entrepreneurial behaviors.”
In regards to research some ideas were born and today’s and future call were analysed to submit offers and applications to the European Commission.

Besides the intention to going for new joint projects in the next years, the innovative format of “Business Idea Idol” of Münster raised high interest, not only Gent is adapting it to their own University, but it will be distributed across Europe by the EUEN project.
